When the thought of a website crossed our minds about a year ago, we figured sure - a place to put some pictures, maybe show off the Browns Cave and post a link or two... but we never expected it to blossom as it has.
And while we like the name DawgWARDens, we thought it needed something else. It needed a face - not just ours - to represent the Browns and what they mean to us.
As 'children of the 80's', we remember the likes of Hanford Dixon and Frank Minnifield and their defensive dawg barking during those heydays of our beloved Cleveland Browns. When every other song on the radio was a Cleveland original and we knew all the words and sang them proudly... when every downtown building hosted one element of brown & orange or another in their windows and crowds waited at the airport for our returning gridiron heroes even when the game didn't end as we'd like it to... that was football as we remember and love it. We loved our Dawgs of Defense and we love that the term Dawgs has stuck with the team all these years... at least for those of us who really remember.
It was easy to determine we needed a K9 representative to be the face of DawgWARDens.com.
So, much like our real living, breathing, barking dawgs, we adopted and would like to introduce D-Dubz. While not an original, D-Dubz comes to us from an online search and with a few slight enhancements to make him our own. He's a tough guy with a hunger for winning and a heart for the history of our Browns. He's kid and family friendly but he knows the good guys from the bad guys and he'd take down a Raven... a Steeler and even a Bengal with pride. Like us, he believes in our team 24/7/365 - not just when they win but each and every time they take the field.
So join us in welcoming D-Dubz to the Ward family line-up and to DawgWARDens.com and watch for future news & notes from D-Dubz as he takes his place in our organization!! |
