Science teaches us that things such as eye color, height and skin complexion are determined by our genes… genes handed down by our parents and their parents before them.
In the case of Bree – born Brianna Nicole on a sunny May morning in 1990 -- being a Browns fan can be tied to genetics in a very similar way. Simply put, being a Browns fan was in her blood from the very beginning.
Born the year in which Bud Carson and Jim Shofner split coaching duties, leading the team to a combined lackluster record of 3 and 13, when starting quarterback Bernie Kosar earned a 65.7 rating and Michael Dean Perry lead the team with 11.5 sacks, Bree was destined to know and love the game of football and the Cleveland Browns.
From the day she came home from the hospital to the warm summer days she spent with her parents at training camp to the cold December games she spends with her dad at Cleveland Browns Stadium, she has been taught… make that raised to cheer for the Cleveland Browns and she, like her parents before her, remains loyal to the team through thick and thin.
Just a twinkle in her parent’s eyes at the time of The Drive and later The Fumble, Bree understands that being a Browns fan isn’t always easy. She knows, understands and appreciates the history of the team and the passion with which a true fan wears their colors and shows their pride.
Bree graduated from Mentor High School in 2008 and is currently pursuing her Associates Degree in Business Administration at Lakeland Community College. Putting herself through college, she is a department manager at Wal-Mart in Mentor overseeing the consumables departments.
In her spare time, Bree enjoys working out, dancing, scrapbooking, and tending to her many small pets. Along with an interest in photography (also genetically passed down from her dad), she enjoys anything and everything Disney and simply hanging out with friends.
Bree shared a special memory with her dad in week two of the 2011 NFL season when the two embarked on a road trip to Indianapolis to see their Cleveland Browns take on the Indianapolis Colts. Despite having a soft spot for Peyton Manning and his boys in blue, Bree joined JW and a whole gaggle of fellow Browns Backers to cheer the Browns to a 27 to 19 victory.
Another particularly fond memory for Bree was a December 2007 trip to New York with her dad during which they visited the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Rockefeller Center. Together they enjoyed sightseeing and taking in the city at its holiday best but the real purpose for this trip was to see their Cleveland Browns take on – and defeat - the New York Jets 24-18 at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.
Knowing the players she watches today will one day be the alumni she tells her own children and grandchildren about, Bree is a big Josh Cribbs fan and she wears his jersey each Sunday. Genetically wired and loyally devoted like her mom and dad, Bree patiently awaits the day her beloved Browns bring the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy home to Cleveland.
